Malte ten Hagen

Malte ten Hagen won the second prize at the International Violoncello Competition in Liezen and the first prize at the Carl-Schroeder-Competition. He was also awarded the second prize at the International Max Reger Competition for chamber music. At the age of only thirteen he was already admitted into the cello class of Claus Kanngiesser and Katharina Troe at the Hochschule für Musik Köln. In addition, he attended master classes with Maria Kliegel, Peter Bruns, Peter Buck, Jens Peter Maintz und Arto Noras.


As a soloist he performed with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Wojciech Rajski at the Rheingau Musik Festival and with the Loh-Orchester Sondershausen conducted by Hiroaki Masuda. He played numerous recitals for example in Cologne, Bonn, Freiburg, in the Bagno Konzertgalerie and at the Ehinger Musiksommer. He is a scholarship holder of the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation.
